Introduction

TRANSOCEAN® coating three roller grinding mill is widely used to mix, disperse, grind and homogenize viscous pastes to produce qualified coatings. It consists of three horizontal rolls, namely feed roll, center roll and apron roll. Each roller rotates in an opposite direction from the adjacent roller with a tiny gap between them. The three rolls rotate at progressively higher velocities. The speed ratio among the three rolls is determined by the gear ratio. An inverter is available as an option to adjust the speed. Materials are fed into the feed zone between the feed roll and the center roll. Due to the narrow gap between the adjacent two rolls most of the materials are retained in the feed area, while a small part of the materials pass through the gap and are subject to the tremendous shear force brought about by the difference in speed between the two adjacent rolls. The materials which have passed will be transferred to the smaller gap between the center roll and the apron roll and experience an even stronger shear force due to the higher speed of the apron roll. The pastes adhering to the apron roll will be scraped off by the scraping blade. The processing cycle will be repeated until the fineness of products is acceptable.

Operation precautions
1. Equipment inspection: Before starting, check whether the position and locking of each component are normal, inject lubricating oil as required, adjust the front and rear left and right hand wheels after turning on the power, observe whether the roller linkage is normal, and remove the dirt on the roller surface.
2. Gap adjustment: After starting the operation, first adjust the gap between the middle and rear rollers, add slurry appropriately, and after visually observing that the coloring depth is uniform, lock the fixing nut, and then adjust the gap between the front roller and the middle roller until the predetermined finished product particle size requirements are met.
3. Foreign matter prevention: It is strictly forbidden to bump or scratch the surface of the roller, and it is strictly forbidden for various metal objects and hard debris to enter the running roller, otherwise it may squeeze the roller surface or damage other parts.
4. Temperature control: Pay attention to the operating temperature range of the roller. The ordinary type is generally - 5℃~100℃, and the heating type is 20℃~220℃. At the same time, ensure that the cooling water system is working normally. It is strictly forbidden to start without cooling water.
5. Daily maintenance: After work stops, the paint should be removed in time, the rollers and related parts should be cleaned and wiped, the scraper and baffle plate should be loosened, a small amount of engine oil should be applied, and then covered with wax paper for protection to extend the service life of the equipment.
