Distribution and operation of kneading machine blades

Oct 30, 2024

The kneading machine is an intermittent equipment. Two Z-shaped blades are installed in the machine. They rotate in opposite directions at different speeds. The speed ratio is about 1.9:1. Therefore, the materials in the kneading machine are sheared, stretched and dispersed. At the same time, the entire material is pushed to move in the axial and radial directions. The gap between the blade and the groove wall is about 1mm, which also has an extrusion effect on the material, eliminating the stagnant area, so the material is well mixed.

There are two installation forms of blades in the kneading machine: two-blade tangent type and two-blade partially overlapping type. When the tangent blades rotate, they constantly change their relative positions, so that the materials can be quickly mixed. The heat transfer area swept by the blades per unit volume is large, the heat transfer rate is large, and the materials are not easily entangled on the blades. Partially overlapping blades are often used to handle sticky materials. Because of their self-cleaning effect, they can prevent materials from sticking to the blades.
