How to prevent the Mixing Machine from freezing and cracking?

Feb 17, 2025

1. Maintain the temperature of the equipment
When using the Mixing Machine in winter, try to keep the room temperature at the work site above 0℃. If this temperature cannot be reached, the transmission device must be additionally heated with a heating blower.
Before the Mixing Machine works, the mixer should be allowed to run at no load for at least 30 minutes to ensure the normal operation of all parts of the equipment.
2. Antifreeze of the water supply system
When it is not used for a long time, the water in the pipe needs to be drained, especially the part with the stop valve.
When used in winter, ensure that the water in the pipe flows normally, and the insulation pipeline can be increased.
If the water pump freezes and the blades are stuck, causing the motor to stall, the water pump power should be turned off immediately, and hot water should be used to melt the ice until the motor shaft can rotate freely.
3. Antifreeze of the air supply system
After the operation, discharge the condensed water in the pneumatic system to prevent the condensed water from freezing due to the night temperature below zero.
Check the lubricating oil of the pneumatic device regularly to ensure that there is no dust and moisture in the oil.
4. Antifreeze of admixture system
Pay attention to the insulation of admixture pipelines and tanks to prevent admixtures from freezing.
When not in production for a long time, the admixture in the admixture pipeline needs to be released to prevent freezing or corrosion of the pipeline.
5. Antifreeze of mixing machine
The best storage place for mixing machine is in a moderately heated building to avoid unprotected storage in the open air.
Before storage, apply anti-rust oil to the leaking parts of the mixing machine.
If stored for a long time, manually turn the rotating part of the mixing machine every 3 months to ensure the flexibility of the equipment.
6. Antifreeze of batching station
After the construction is completed, clean the remaining materials in the sand and gravel bin to prevent freezing the next day and delaying production.
Before and after the construction, clean the sand and gravel on the rollers in time to prevent ice from forming sharp objects that scratch the belt.
7. Other measures
Rinse the mixing machine with hot water or steam, add sand, gravel and hot water and stir for 1 minute, then add cement and admixture and stir for 3 minutes.
To reduce freezing damage, reduce the amount of water in the mix to a minimum and add a water reducer.
The mixer and the inlet and outlet hoppers should be cleaned every four hours to prevent the residual concrete from solidifying and hindering normal operation.
