1. Feeler gauge detection method
The feeler gauge is a commonly used measuring tool for detecting the gap between rollers. The operation steps are as follows:
Prepare the feeler gauge: Select a feeler gauge of appropriate thickness, usually ranging from 0.05mm to 1mm.
Adjust the roller gap: Manually adjust the roller gap according to the properties of the material and the grinding requirements.
Insert the feeler gauge: Insert the feeler gauge into the gap between the rollers, gently push the feeler gauge to feel its tightness.
Read the value: Read the gap value according to the scale of the feeler gauge to ensure that the gap meets the process requirements.
2. Optical measurement method
Optical measurement is a more advanced detection method that uses the principle of linear propagation of light and the dispersion characteristics of light in the same medium to measure the gap. The specific steps are as follows:
Install the optical measuring device: Install the optical measuring device above the roller of the three roll mill, including the light stand and the receiving plate.
Turn on the light source: Start the direct light source on the light stand, and the light will pass through the gap between the rollers and diffract on the receiving plate.
Measuring the light width: Use a ruler to measure the light width on the receiving plate, and determine the size of the roller gap by the change in the light width.
Adjusting the gap: According to the measurement results, adjust the roller gap until the light width meets the process requirements.
3. Manual adjustment method
The manual adjustment method is a traditional detection and adjustment method, which is suitable for occasions where the precision is not high. The operation steps are as follows:
Adjusting the nut: Change the position of the grinding roller by manually turning the adjustment nut to adjust the gap.
Visual inspection: Add a small amount of material, observe the grinding effect of the material, and adjust the gap according to the grinding effect.
Repeated adjustment: Adjust the gap multiple times until a satisfactory grinding effect is achieved.
4. Hydraulic or motor drive adjustment method
For the Three roll mill equipped with a hydraulic system or a motor drive system, hydraulic or motor drive can be used to adjust the roller gap. The advantages of this method are high adjustment accuracy and easy operation.
5. CNC adjustment method
The CNC adjustment method controls the position of the grinding roller through the CNC system to achieve precise adjustment of the gap. This method is suitable for high-precision grinding operations and can realize automated production.
Precautions
Regular inspection: Regardless of the method used, the roller gap should be checked regularly to ensure the stability and reliability of the grinding effect.
Clean roller: Before detecting and adjusting the gap, make sure that the roller surface is clean and free of residual materials.
Safe operation: When adjusting the gap, ensure that the equipment is in a shutdown state to avoid accidents.
