I. Operation performance
1. Decreased stirring effect
If it is found that the material after the kneading machine is stirred is uneven, there are obvious unmixed areas, or there is a large gap compared with the stirring effect under the previous normal state, this may indicate that the stirring blades are worn, deformed or loose. For example, in the chemical industry, when the kneading machine is used to mix high-viscosity rubber raw materials, if the stirring effect is reduced, the quality of the rubber product may be unstable.
Abnormal stirring speed is also an important indicator. If the stirring speed of the kneading machine slows down significantly, or there is a jam or instability, it may be a transmission failure, such as a speed reducer failure, belt, etc. For example, in the food industry, abnormal kneading speed may affect the production efficiency and quality of food.
2. Increased noise and vibration
When the noise and vibration generated by the kneading machine during operation exceed the normal range, attention should be paid. Excessive noise and vibration may be caused by wear, looseness, imbalance, etc. of mechanical parts. For example, the imbalance of the stirring blades will cause the kneading machine to produce violent vibration and noise during operation, which will not only affect the service life of the equipment, but also may threaten the safety of the operator.
The noise and vibration levels of the kneading machine in different time periods can be compared, or compared with the same type of equipment, to determine whether there is an abnormality. If the noise and vibration continue to increase and cannot be solved by adjusting the equipment parameters or performing simple maintenance, then the equipment may need to be repaired or the relevant parts replaced.
2. Appearance inspection
1. Component wear and corrosion
Regularly check the various components of the kneading machine, such as the stirring blades, container walls, transmission devices, etc., to see if there are wear and corrosion phenomena. For the stirring blades, if there are obvious scratches, pits or wear marks on the surface, it may affect the mixing effect and the service life of the equipment. For example, in the processing of some highly corrosive materials, the components of the kneading machine are prone to corrosion, such as rust spots on the surface of metal parts, peeling of coatings, etc.
Wear of the container wall may cause material leakage, affecting the production environment and product quality. Wear of the transmission device, such as wear of the gears and elongation of the chain, will affect the transmission efficiency and stability of the equipment. If the parts are found to be seriously worn and corroded, they should be repaired or replaced in time.
2. Decreased sealing performance
Check the seals of the kneading machine, such as shaft seals, end cover seals, etc., to see if there is any leakage. If material leakage is found at the seal, it means that the sealing performance has declined, which may be caused by aging, damage or improper installation of the seal. For example, in the chemical industry, when the kneading machine handles some toxic, harmful or flammable and explosive materials, the sealing performance is very important. Once a leak occurs, it may cause serious safety accidents and environmental pollution.
The severity of the sealing problem can be judged by observing the location, degree and frequency of the leak. If the leak is small, you can try to adjust the installation position of the seal or replace the seal; if the leak is serious, you may need to overhaul the equipment, find the cause of the leak and make corresponding repairs.
III. Equipment parameters and running time
1. Changes in equipment parameters
Pay attention to the various operating parameters of the kneading machine, such as temperature, pressure, current, etc. If these parameters have a large change compared with the normal range, it may indicate that the equipment is faulty or the components are damaged. For example, when the temperature of the kneading machine rises abnormally, it may be caused by a failure in the heating system or increased friction between the stirring blades and the material.
Changes in pressure parameters may also reflect problems inside the equipment, such as poor sealing and blockage. Abnormal current parameters may be caused by motor failure or excessive load on the transmission device. By monitoring changes in equipment parameters, potential problems can be discovered in a timely manner, and appropriate measures can be taken to repair or replace parts.
2. Operating time and service life
Understand the design service life and operating time of the kneading machine. If the equipment is close to or exceeds the design service life, the wear and aging of its various components may be more serious, and it is necessary to pay closer attention to the operating status of the equipment. For example, some key components such as motors and reducers may experience performance degradation and increased failures after long-term operation.
Even if the equipment has not reached its designed service life, if it has been running for a long time and has experienced high-intensity workloads or harsh working environments during use, it may be necessary to repair or replace parts in advance. Whether repair or replacement is needed can be comprehensively judged based on the actual operation of the equipment and maintenance records.
